17 March 2010: Lanka Lions beat ECB Blues by eight wickets

SHARJAH — Vikrant Shetty returned with a five-wicket haul while Haris cracked a superb unbeaten half-century as Eurocon Alubond defeated Rufi Real Estate by nine wickets in the second Al Dhaid Gold Cup, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, a press release said.
In another match, Lanka Lions, aided by a fine all-round performance from Marlon, got the better of ECB Blues by eight wickets while William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana dominated their match against Emirates Islamic Bank before posting a comfortable 67-run victory.Vikrant conceded just 17 runs for his five-wicket haul as Rufi Real Estate, batting first, were bowled out for a modest 115. Only Usman (33) and Adil (27) offered some worthwhile resistance to a disciplined Eurocon attack.Eurocon Alubond, in reply, achieved the victory in just 11 overs with Haris remaining not out on 51. He was well assisted by Nasir Aziz who chipped in with a fluent 48.

Malintha Perera smashed an unbeaten 77 and Gyan made a solid 46 as Lanka Lions overhauled ECB Blues’ total of 200 all out in 32.1 overs. Earlier, ECB Blues had built their innings around Rahul Chatwari who weighed in with an entertaining 84.

William Hare Abu Dhabi rode on a brilliant knock of 80 by Faisal Ashraf to pile up a decent 249t. Emirates Islamic Bank, in reply, were shot out for 182 with Nadeem and Zeeshan taking three wickets each.
